To Act or Not to Act
Taking Action for the right things in life are very important because you not only help yourself but other's effected by the situation. I had the opportunity to take action against bullying. At my old school, there was a new girl that came in grade 10 and people made fun of her because people thought that she was emo. But little did they know, she lost her whole family and she went to counselling to deal with that issue. And i would witness a lot people bullying her, saying very mean things to her about her going to counselling and people called her very harsh things. So then i stood up for her because no one should deserve to go through something like that and be bullied by it. I took action to stop people from bullying her and I gave her support that she was going to be okay. With people bullying her she was always shy and afraid to talk or start a conversation. But soon when I stood up for her, she opened up to me and people didn't notice that she is just a regular girl. I am glad that i took action against something that was bothering her and bothering me because it shows that people do care if your going through something which is not fair.

This was a really good post Ray :)
ReplyDeleteI think its really brave of you to stand up for her, especially when you said that so many people were bullying her and calling her nasty things. Usually people stand by and let that happen, but I'm glad that you didn't let that happen. Sometimes just being there for someone and helping them deal with their problems can make a huge difference, and I'm sure you had a really positive effect on this girls life!
Hey Ray really inspirational post!! I really agree that if you didn't stand up she would be afraid, and emotionally alone, and this could lead to some other issues. what you did is amazing. Standing up for her you changed not only her life, but you showed awareness of the issue. Great post!
ReplyDeleteGreat post Ray! I am so happy you stood up for her and you are right no one deserves to be bullied at all and it is upsetting that the other kids and your previous school would not give her a chance. i'm sure she turned out to be a really nice girl and hopefully other kids got to see that after they say you hanging out with her and being her friend. You really changed her life and gave her confidence to be herself at a new school. Great job!
ReplyDeleteRay I enjoy how you made this post very personal. I think its very humble and loyal of you to stick by this girls side. More people should be pro active like you so bullying can be diminished from our society. You are truly a role model!
