To Act or Not to Act

Taking Action for the right things in life are very important because you not only help yourself but other's effected by the situation. I had the opportunity to take action against bullying. At my old school, there was a new girl that came in grade 10 and people made fun of her because people thought that she was emo. But little did they know, she lost her whole family and she went to counselling to deal with that issue. And i would witness a lot people bullying her, saying very mean things to her about her going to counselling and people called her very harsh things. So then i stood up for her because no one should deserve to go through something like that and be bullied by it. I took action to stop people  from bullying her and I gave her support that she was going to be okay. With people bullying her she was always shy and afraid to talk or start a conversation. But soon when I stood up for her, she opened up to me and people didn't notice that she is just a regular girl. I am glad that i took action against something that was bothering her and bothering me because it shows that people do care if your going through something which is not fair.

Human Rights

Who Inspired Me?

The person that had inspired me throughout my whole life was Gandhi and his accomplishments to save India's human rights. Growing up I have learned that Gandhi was a man that stood up against the British for the rights of his own country which was violated by the British. Gandhi is an important man because he brought about the independence of India through a non-violent resistance movement. Many leaders learned of the benefits of his methods and they have used these methods in their political struggles. For example, Martin Luther King was inspired by Gandhi to lead on non-violent protests in America against discrimination. Also over the years of when Gandhi was alive, he wrote to leaders of different nations to stop their violent ways of conflict. Mahatma Gandhi has inspired me as a young Canadian because if there ever was a conflict that I was in, I would go about solving it by peaceful means. I take in consideration that violence leads to no answer to any conflicts, because of Gandhi inspiring me. Gandhi has given me the inspiration to fight for what is right but fighting for it in a non-violent way because violence only causes more damage.

" We have learned that we cannot live alone, at peace; that our own well-being is dependent on the well-being of other nations, far away.... We have learned to be citizens of the world, members of the human community."
- Franklin D. Roosevelt, Former US President, 1945.

Interdependence is the way in which all organisms on earth are connected. This quote summarizes that the world today has been very dependent on other countries to support us and we have to be connected to other countries in order to get the resources supplied to us. Without interdependence, trade would not be there to help our economy grow and also have the supplies of resources for our species to live. As we are all globally connected to the world, it makes us more aware of our actions and how our actions impact other things in today’s society. Also, David Suzuki, an environmentalist, has a strong believe that interdependence is present in our generation. David also stated that we are linked to the web of diversity with all living things which makes us interconnected and staying connected through the internet isn’t sufficient. He portrays that we should stay connected with the foundation of the 3 shifts with interdependence. Those three shifts are “from dominance to partnership”, “fragmentation to connection”, and “insecurity to interdependence”. These 3 shifts mainly establish of all global citizens coming together as one and look at the big picture of a safer and better society for all species on planet earth. Interdependence has formed our society today and we are global citizens that we no longer have to think about one’s best interest. Now we have to base our best interests on the one that impacts the world in a positive way.

Arab-Israeli Conflict

Thus far, i have learnt for Palestine Hamas, which is the country that I represent, that it is important to come with an approach to settle the conflict which involves peace and mannerly discussions. Palestine Hamas has been put upon many accusations about being a terrorist group state. With the group that I am in, we have come to together to discuss an approximate solution for not to be known as a terrorist group and just to assemble Palestine Hamas to have a better reputation than what they started off with. I have learned that the Arab- Israeli conflict has made a grand impact in the surrounding countries and nations. Also I have learned that my representative Mahmoud Zahhar would wish to make alliances with  the Iran representative because of the Muslim brotherhood they have shared together. In conclusion the I look forward to progress with the AIC and help the conflict between  the Arabs and Israeli's be discharged, so the two states can come together as one to form a peaceful country.

What I did this summer and how it connects to the world

POST#1:What did you do this summer and how can what you did this summer be connected to an important issue?

This summer, my family and I have been planning a trip to go to England. When we got there, walking around in England was a really fascinating with all the parks and monumental places. But behind all of the beautiful places was the riots that were caused by the government. The state of London was very destitute and when London perceived the news that the government of the UK was instigating all sorts of cuts to welfare, education, health etc., the people of UK were raged with anger. With the people of London disagreeing with the government, mass unemployment went from low to very high also racial tension between the police and the youth on the streets were at a breaking point. The aggravating factor that inaugurated  colossal riots was the arrest that turned into a death. The financial problems that England sustaining, the young has to oversee that problem. With all this materializing, the people of London want to be ascertain in society, the only way they perceived how was as a result of  riots.
